The Turnpike Cruiser was the flagship model of the Mercury division of the Ford Motor Company and is named after the 1956 creation of the Interstate Highway System. It is known for its unique styling and wide array of gadgets  such as ‘seat-o-matic’ adjusting seats and an average speed computer. The model is distinguished by the gold anodized trim strip in the rear fin.
